14 game season to test young squad

DURANGO — The Fort Lewis College men’s lacrosse team has announced their 2023 spring schedule, making the announcement this week on the team’s social media pages and on the mcla website.
Following the usual scheduling dynamics, the Skyhawks will begin the season on the road, with trips to Phoenix and Albuquerque in the month of February, before consecutive trips to Holbrook, Arizona, Denver, Colorado, and Irvine, California round out the road slate in March.
One of the highlights of the early season is a trip to Holbrook, Arizona for neutral site games against Northern Arizona and Southern Utah. The trip is part of an initiative to grow the game in non-traditional locations. All games will be hosted at Holbrook High School along with a free clinic over the weekend to teach the game of lacrosse to the youth of Holbrook, more details will be posted closer to March.
After a spring break trip to play Biola and CSU-Fullerton, the hawks will play Utah Tech on the way home before hosting the first home game of the season against UC-Irvine on March 28th.
The following weekend, the Skyhawks will host division foes Metro State and the Air Force Academy, two matchups that will prove pivotal for playoff seeding. Fort Lewis will close the season at home, hosting Western State and UCCS on senior weekend on April 14-16.
RMLC playoffs will take place April 28-29. FLC must win 3 out of 4 division games to qualify. Fans are encouraged to follow the team this spring through our website and instagram page.
