DURANGO – The men’s lacrosse program hosted their first ever prospect day over the weekend of July 28th, having a dozen high school athletes on campus for the event. Coaches and current Skyhawks were on hand to give student-athletes an in-depth look at the school and the lacrosse program.
“I’m very happy with how the day turned out.” Coach Mudrak said, “We had some great talent out here and talking to a lot of the attendees, I met a lot of kids who seemed to be real high character guys with great attitudes. That is exactly what we’re looking for here at Fort Lewis.”
After seeing the campus, coaches got two hours to run players through drills, instruction, and scrimmage periods, before lunch which was provided by Zia Taqueria, a staple of Durango.
Coaches have confirmed this will become an annual event, taking place in the late summer.
“We had a lot of fun today, I’m excited to make this an annual event and improve it every year. We want our prospects to leave with the most knowledge possible so they can make the best decision for themselves, and have some fun while doing it.” Added coach Mudrak.
