BALTIMORE – Inside Lacrosse Magazine has come out with their MCLA DII preseason poll and the Fort Lewis Skyhawks come in at #19, marking Fort’s first inclusion in the preseason poll since 2014.
The Skyhawks will play 11 regular season games starting with Wyoming at home on March 3rd. However, Fort will open the season with a scrimmage against NCAA DII Adams State University on February 11th.
The team began spring practice three weeks ago as Head Coach Tom Mudrak works to implement his up tempo philosophy. With just over a month before the first game, the first year coach says it’s all the process. “There is a lot we need to learn and we don’t get a lot of time to fine tune it with our opening schedule. It’s going to be a challenge but we’re excited to meet it head on.” The Skyhawks take on San Diego, Concordia, and Fullerton after the home opener, a stretch that will have major implications for the Skyhawks national tournament aspirations.
