The 4th Annual Fort Lax Alumni Hall of Fame Game will be held in Durango on October 18th, 2:00 PM at the La Plata County Fairgrounds.
This spring marks the 30th anniversary of Fort Lewis College Men’s Lacrosse, whose inaugural season was 1985. Last year, the class of 1986, the first class to get school support for the program, was inducted into the Fort Lax Hall of Fame. Joining them on the plaque this year are two high scoring Skyhawks: Attackman Tyler Pousson (216 career points from 2004-2008), and Middie/Attack Andy Grenhart (131 points from 2007-2010). Both players were part of the dominant FLC teams of 2007-2008 that went the MCLA national tournament.
Pousson is known as one of the most exciting players in RMLC history, as his highlight reel goals have quickly become the stuff of legend. His ability to take over a game and make it look effortless, was almost as impressive as his ability to frustrate his opponents.
Grenhart, who now coaches lacrosse at Durango High School, is known as one of the most clutch performers in Skyhawk history. His tendency to score big goals to tie, win, or start a comeback earned him that reputation.
As in previous years, there will be a DHS game preceding the event, as well as free food. Following the game, JBo’s will host the after party where all proceeds from a keg (donated by Ska Brewing), will go to the program.
If you plan on playing in the game, or just attending, please go to the Facebook event page and join: https://www.facebook.com/events/315088608663133/
Cheers to another 30 years of Fort Lax!
