DURANGO – Heavy snow is blanketing Durango but the Skyhawks men’s lacrosse team is ready for action.
The team will travel to Moab, Utah this weekend for a two game swing with Utah State University and the University of Wyoming.
10 freshmen and transfers will take the field for the first time as Skyhawks on Friday evening. With only six returners from last season, it is a new team donning the blue and gold for Fort Lewis in 2019.
Lone senior Scott Dimmitt will be counted on to lead the offense, while juniors Colin O’Gorman and Ryan Dorsey will be holding down the defensive end of the field with the help of NCAA transfer Max Dubois at pole and Kevin Cassedy in net.
The Skyhawks will play Utah State on Friday night at 6p, then Wyoming on Sunday morning at 11:30am.
The games are free to attend and will be played on the stadium field at Grand County High School.
