DURANGO – Friends and family gathered at the Smith Complex Saturday for the annual Fort Lewis Men’s Lacrosse Alumni Game. Former players and coaches came together to honor the program and field an alumni team to take on the current team, and the two teams did not disappoint. After a back and forth battle, the game ended in overtime with a 8-7 victory for the current Skyhawks.
Ian Bragdon led the way for the young guys, scoring four goals.
A special moment of the weekend came when alumni Max Segal and Shaun Koenig were nominated to the Fort Lewis College Men’s Lacrosse Hall of Fame. Each year, former Skyhawks are nominated and recognized for their contributions to the program. This year’s inductees includes one of the best defenders in program history in Shaun Koenig, and Max Segal, who is the all-time leading scorer for the Skyhawks.
With the win, the current team wrapped up the 2016 fall ball campaign. Now the team will turn their attention to finishing up the semester in the classroom before hitting it hard in January. The Skyhawks finished 4-0 in the fall, highlighted by a 3-0 weekend in the Gold Rush Tournament at Regis University.
Fort Lewis will next be in action on February 11th, 2017 at Adams State University.
