This is literally the home stretch for Fort Lax. The final two games of the regular season will take place on Cedar Field at Fort Lewis College this Friday and Saturday. The game against Western State scheduled for 4/19 has unfortunately been cancelled due to Western State being unable to travel. This means that Friday’s game (April 11th) at 4:00pm against RMLC newcomer Johnson & Wales, and Saturday’s 2:00pm game (April 12th) against RMAC rival Regis University will determine the playoff fate of Fort Lax. Two wins, and the Fort assures themselves of the 3rd seed in the RMLC playoffs on May 2nd and 3rd in Grand Junction, where they will likely have to face rivals UNC and Montana St. on the way to a conference championship. Even though the season is winding down, there is still a lot of meaningful lacrosse to be played.
Please come join Fort Lax at Moe’s (937 Main Ave) in downtown Durango following the Regis game Saturday, as all proceeds from a keg donated by Ska Brewing Company will go to Fort Lax.
Next Saturday, 4/19, Zia Taqueria in Durango will be holding a fundraiser all day for both the Skyhawk Men’s and Women’s Lacrosse programs at both of their locations. Please spread the word and enjoy some of the best food in Durango as you support the team.
