It was 75 degrees and sunny throughout game time on Thursday March 8th as the Skyhawks travelled to Cal State Long Beach for an out-of conference matchup against the 49ers. The Fort led 5-1 after the first quarter as Long Beach had no answer for the attack of Paul Larson (6G, 1A), Kevin Harkey (2G, 3A), and Brian Lynch (3G, 1A). The Fort defense also shut down the 49er offense, only allowing 1 goal in each of the first three quarters. Long Beach was without their starting faceoff man and Fort faceoff men Josh deGuzman, Grant Arthurs, and Bradey Hall took advantage by combining to win 18 of 22 draws. It was a complete team effort, with every player on the team making significant contributions throughout the afternoon.
LBSU falls to 5-2 while Fort Lewis improves to 4-0 on the season. The Skyhawks battle MCLA #18 Cal State Fullerton who is 6-3 so far.
*The Fullerton game has been moved to Saturday 3/10 12:00 noon PT at Esperanza High School, 1830 North Kellogg Drive Anaheim, California 92807
