Coaching Staff

Head Coach Tom Mudrak

It gave me great pleasure to accept the position of head coach for the men’s lacrosse club in August of 2016. After having spent the last seven years living in Atlanta, Georgia, I was ready to head west to join the incredible organization Dan had been building since 2012.

2023 will be my eleventh year coaching lacrosse and seventh season as a head coach. My coaching philosophy is centered entirely on education with the belief that, at this level, learning doesn’t stop when students leave the classroom. As the head coach, it is my duty to pass on as much knowledge as I can to my players.

This is my seventh year coaching at the MCLA level, having started my collegiate coaching career in 2014 as the defensive coordinator at Reinhardt University, where I helped lead the Eagles to their first SELC Championship and MCLA National Tournament appearance. In 2015, I took the same position at Kennesaw State University, where I helped lead the Owls to their first two MCLA National Tournament appearances.

Having played NCAA and MCLA lacrosse, I cannot stress the value that the MCLA has in growing the game of lacrosse. Between the on-field competition and the off-the-field experience students can gain, I believe it is an excellent route for student-athletes, who want to continue their lacrosse career and gain advantages after graduation.

Assistant Coach Robby Fields

Coach Robby begins year two with the Skyhawks after having moved to Durango from central Ohio, having graduated from Otterbein College in Columbus, OH in 2021. Robby, who played attack at Otterbein leads the Skyhawks offense as Offensive Coordinator.
