On a hot and cloudy Sunday afternoon, the Fort Lewis Skyhawks finished their road trip across the front range with a rebounding 23-5 victory over RMLC West division opponent CSU-Pueblo. This is the first year back in the RMLC for the Thunderwolves after a few years in probationary status. Fort Lax mananged to score 23 times on an astounding 69 shots for the game, setting the tone early with 6 shots on the first possession of the game. An 11 goal second quarter sealed the deal for Fort Lewis, as multiple players tallied points. The focus of the day was on opportunistic offense, team defense, and focus on the little things, and across the board the Skyhawks executed well. Kevin Harkey led all scorers with 10 points (8G, 2A) without being a one-dimensional player. Freshman Brian Lynch was awarded the game ball for his selfless play over the weekend, his team leading 11 ground balls in the game, excellent contributions in clearing, and his disciplined offensive play. After eight away games to start the season, the Fort looks forward to their first home games of the year this weekend.
